It was a privilege for our Service Operations Manager, Suzette, to share about the important work that SASSI delivers across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven communities. ROCC for Women congratulates SASSI on their rebrand and the incredible work they continue to do! We value the strong relationship we have with SASSI and the way we work together to support women facing difficulties in our community.

The ROCC for Women team recently visited Vinnies Australia Jim Da Silva Farm to learn more about the important work being done to support men who have experienced homelessness and other difficulties. It was inspiring to see how the Farm provides stable housing, community and practical support to help residents rebuild their lives. Across the Shoalhaven, the homelessness sector is working together to develop long-term and permanent housing solutions, and we appreciated the opportunity to see how Jim Da Silva Farm is contributing to this work. You can read more about the life-changing impact of the Farm here: https://www.disability.vinnies.org.au/vd-your-stories/john-de-silva-farm-johns-story/

ROCC for Women acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters on which we work, live and support our community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and honour the knowledge, culture and resilience of First Nations women. We recognise that we work on Yuin Country — land that always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land. Sovereignty has never been ceded.
