Two Casual Board Vacancies

Shoalhaven Womens Resource Group trading as ROCC for Women (ROCC) wishes to fill two casual vacancies on its Board. Based in Nowra on the NSW South Coast, ROCC provides long-term case management for women 18 years and over who have had contact with the criminal justice system and/or where alcohol or other drugs is impacting negatively on their lives; who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or have an at-risk tenancy. ROCC’s case management is trauma informed and offers tailored, flexible supports and a wraparound, holisitic approach for women.

ROCC is governed by a Board of volunteers, appointed for three year terms. Having appointed its first CEO in 2021, ROCC is currently going through a period of growth and transformation. To assist with this, we are looking for Board members who:

- Are passionate about providing community services for women

- Have experience in business, finance, accounting, or as a CFO or equivalent; or in fundraising and developing income streams

- Have experience in governance, including sitting on for profit or not for profit Boards

- Are willing to work closely with the CEO and other Board members on development of policy and process

Experience working at a senior level in welfare organisations or the community sector is welcome, but is not essential. Previous experiences as a Board Chair would also be well regarded.

The Board currently meets every second month in the evenings, usually virtually, with occasional circular resolutions between meetings. Board members will also be required to attend an annual in person strategy day in Nowra.

Written applications, including a CV and cover letter outlining your interest in joining the SWRG Board, should be sent to the Chair, Sophie Ray at sophiecmray@gmail.com

Applications close 5pm Friday 24 February 2023.
